Deciding to attend a Bible College is a huge and exciting step to take in your walk with God! You are starting a journey of learning more about God and how He made you — with all your gifts and callings. But in order to make the most of this experience, you will want to make sure you prepare in different ways.
While of course you want to make sure that you are ready for Bible College in all the practical things, it is just as important to make sure that you are spiritually ready to receive all that God wants to do in and through you in this season.

Spiritual Preparation for Bible College
What are you expecting?
Expect and believe that God will have something good for you in every single class, no matter how exciting, or unexciting, the topic may seem to you. Expect that God will use the instructors to answer questions you have, and help you learn what you need to know in order to live the life God has called you to.
How will you set your attitude?
Come willing to learn, and be humble. You will most likely learn some new things, and you may even have to unlearn some things. No one knows everything, and we all have room to learn and grow spiritually. Be open, ready, and willing to learn — to accept new concepts from God’s Word that you may be unfamiliar with, and to accept correction if you learn that something you thought is is not in line with God’s Word.
What should you be praying about?
Take time to talk to God in prayer before, during, and after a class, and before, during, and after your time in Bible College in general. God knows you better than anyone. By the Holy Spirit, God can teach you through every instructor in every class. Prayer can help you be ready to receive whatever God has for you and to step further into His will for your life.
Are you ready for others to not understand your decision?
While Bible College is a wonderful experience, sometimes people you know won’t understand this kind of decision and why you have chosen this path. Being ready with some answers can help you navigate these situations and conversations.
One of the main reasons Christians should do anything in life is because they think it is what God wants them to do. This is not something everyone may understand, but knowing this for yourself can help you explain to others what you are doing, and help you continue doing what you know you should do no matter what.
Another way to help people understand your desire to attend Bible college is just to continue growing and developing as a Christian; your growth will be a testimony to them. Every believer will benefit from knowing more about God and His Word.
