Following God’s Plan for Your Life

We see Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane consecrating Himself to the plan and purpose of God. Aren’t you glad He did? He did not want to do what God asked of Him, and He talked to God about it three times that night.

We see that Jesus didn’t just decide to follow God at the end of His life. He chose to follow God all His life. This is a great example for us. Every day we have to make a choice about following God and His Word, or following our own ideas or feelings about every circumstance.

Jesus made it a practice in His life to follow God. Every day we get to choose to do His will and when we make this a practice in our life, we become strong willed to do the will of God. Psalm 40:8, “I delight to do your will”, should become our goal.

We don’t delight in the place we live, the house/apartment we live in, the job we have or the car we drive. Our delight is in doing the will of God.
