Our Christian experience on earth starts with a miracle and a victory; and will end with a miracle and a victory. The New Birth is a miracle and a victory. The Rapture will be a miracle and a victory.
Jesus experienced a miracle and a victory in both His birth and resurrection. In between, Jesus walked in victory, and so should we! “…Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:1-2).
Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith. As we look to Jesus, we will be able to keep moving forward with perseverance and in victory, no matter what we face.
When the storms of life come – and you can be sure they will come fierce and furious – we can meet them firmly rooted in hearing and doing the Word! (Matthew 7:24-27, Luke 7:46-49).
When we undergo challenges of diverse sorts – and you can be sure there will be tests and trials which will seem too much to bear – we can “count it all joy” and be grateful for an opportunity to exercise our faith! (James 1:2).
When the enemy offers us the seasonal pleasures of sin – and you can be sure that your flesh will treacherously seek to be enticed and entrapped – we can flee temptation with the speed of a sprinter! (2.Timothy 2:2).
When we sense the weight of prayer burdens – and you can be sure that as you grow in grace you will get your fair share of those – we can rely on the Divine assistance of the One who is in us to help us! (Romans 8:26).
When we face tribulation – and you can be sure that the good and the godly will suffer persecution – we can rejoice because He has overcome the world! (John 16:33).
In all these things we are more than conquerors! In all these things we can always have a song and a shout!
If you would “Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong”, you will eventually be able to say “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (1.Corinthians 16:13; 2.Timothy 4:7).
Our faith is the world-overcoming kind! (1.John 5:4). Let’s walk in it!
