You KNOW What To Do

When Jesus was crucified, the veil in the Holy Place dividing the Holy of Holies (God’s presence) from the rest of the temple was split from the top to the bottom. Now, under the New Covenant, God lives IN every born-again believer by the Holy Spirit. He is not living in buildings made by hands; we are the temple of the Holy Ghost. Remembering this will help us in our obedience and in our faith!

When we were leaving Norway to attend RHEMA USA in 2001, our close family went crazy. The summer between 2nd and 3rd Year at RBTC we even got death threats! If we had not known the Holy Spirit was living IN us, we would probably have said: “This is too hard, we cannot do 3rd Year”. But we knew in our spirit by the Holy Spirit that we were supposed to attend 3rd year – we had a “go”. We went, and as a result, those who went crazy and wanted to kill us got saved!

The Holy Spirit IN us – our Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby — longs to work through us! He wants to be a part of our everyday life. If we don’t know what to do, we stop and look on the inside; we look to our spirit. Do we sense a “go” or do we sense a “red light”? Follow the leading! The Holy Spirit in us will lead, instruct, and teach us as we recognize, respect, and respond to Him. It is like we have a secret agent on the inside. He knows the end from the beginning. What a privilege we have!

This year challenges will arise in our lives and decisions will have to be made. Maybe we ask like the Psalmist: “Where does my help come from?” Don’t look to other people for help; look inside. If you are born again THE HELPER — the Person of the Holy Spirit — is living IN you. Rather say: “My help comes from the Lord!” (Psalm 121:1-2).

When we are conscious of the Holy Spirit on the inside, we can say in every situation in life: “The Greater One is living IN me! I am victorious! I am more than a conqueror!” As we believe and confess God’s Word, the Holy Spirit will rise up in us and help us. He will not do the job for us, but He will help us do what we need to do. He will work through us. And He will never leave us nor forsake us!

The Holy Spirit is IN you and you KNOW what to do!

Recognize, respect, and respond to Him today.
