The Resurrection

The Death, Burial and Resurrection of Christ form the bedrock of Christianity. If Jesus Christ wasn't raised from the dead, we would be the most miserable of men. But, because He was raised from the dead, we could be “raised with Him through faith in the working of God” (Colossians 2:12, NKJV). Indeed Christ’s resurrection is crucial to our redemption and salvation. Romans 10:9-10 says, “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (NKJV). Through Him, we are now a part of the family of God. Hallelujah!

In Ephesians 1:19-23 Paul prays that we may know… “what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all” (NKJV).

The Resurrection gave us the legal right to become sons of God and it put us right back in fellowship with Him. Jesus is the Head, and we are the Body. In Him, we now have authority over all the powers of the enemy and the Father has put all things under our feet!

Having a good understanding of this authority we have because of His resurrection will make us become bolder in the place of PRAYER. When we pray, it will be with the full assurance that we get results when we pray to God. Prayer will no longer be a chore, because we are communicating with our Heavenly Father. Our Father loves us so much and gave His Son to die for us, bringing us into His Family! We are now heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ. Praise God!
